Why is this important?
Because the Support-Hand cannot access the firearm, reducing the likelihood of the Firearm being mistakenly selected when reaching for the TASER® CED under high-stress (i.e. 2021 Minnesota / Daunte Wright, 2009 Oakland /Oscar Grant.) In addition, keeping the TASER® CED out of the Gun-Hand, keeps the Gun-Hand free to defend the Firearm during a physical struggle (Firearm Retention.)

Why PRIMARY GUARD® is needed?
It prevents what a policy alone cannot - Switching Hands. This is the dangerous practice of drawing the TASER® CED with the Support-Hand and switching it to the Gun-Hand for deployment. Developing Gun-Hand TASER® CED dominance, while carrying it Support-Hand Draw, can be a dangerous combination.
